What is 2014 BMW R nineT?

The 2014 BMW R nineT is a classic retro-style motorcycle that features modern technology and a powerful engine. It was first introduced as a tribute to the 90th anniversary of BMW Motorrad. Its design is inspired by the BMW R 90 S from the 1970s, which is considered to be one of the most iconic motorcycles in history.

The R nineT has a 1,170cc air-cooled, flat-twin boxer engine that produces 110 horsepower and 88 lb-ft of torque. It is paired with a six-speed gearbox and can go from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.6 seconds. The bike also features ABS braking and has a top speed of 135 mph.

One of the most notable features of the R nineT is its customization options. The bike has a modular design that allows riders to easily swap out parts and add accessories. This means riders can make the bike uniquely their own, and BMW offers a variety of official accessories, including different seats, exhaust systems, and luggage solutions.

The R nineT has a modern suspension system that includes an upside-down fork at the front and a single-sided swingarm at the rear. This, coupled with its lightweight frame, makes the bike agile and responsive in corners. The bike also has a classic round headlight, spoked wheels, and a stylish fuel tank.

Overall, the 2014 BMW R nineT is an excellent motorcycle that combines classic design with modern performance. Its customization options add to its appeal, and it is a joy to ride on both city streets and open roads.

The Pure model is a bare-bones, less expensive version of the R nineT, with a conventional 43mm fork and axial-mount Brembo front brake calipers (versus the standard R nineT's inverted 46mm fork and radial-mount Brembo calipers), and a conventional 2-into-2 exhaust replacing the standard R nineT's stylish twin ...

Berlin plant The motorcycle is manufactured at its Berlin plant in Germany and was created to celebrate BMW Motorrad's 90th anniversary.

The ride quality is good and I'm happy that it is firm rather than soft. I may add 20mm bar risers to lift the riding position slightly. I've done this before on previous R9Ts but the 2021 version seems to fit me better. I can drive 150 miles before needing a break but that is about as far as the tank will go anyway.

Most BMW automobiles are built to last over 200,000 miles or 250,000 miles with the proper maintenance. Some owners have reported keeping their BMW vehicles running over 300,000 miles, though this is the exception.

The engine has tons of torque from tickover all the way up to the red line and will propel the RnineT to a top speed of 135mph.

twin-cylinder boxer engine The powerful air/oil-cooled twin-cylinder boxer engine now runs even more smoothly. Drawing 109 hp from its 1,170 cc displacement, it pulls through the speed range briskly thanks to its flattened power and torque curves between 4,000 and 6,000 rpm.

Arguably the standard bike's closest rivals come in the form of Kawasaki's Z900RS, Triumph's Speed Twin 1200 and Honda's CB1100 EX, which all offer a similar level of performance, charm and cool-factor.

It means 'Roadster' of course. 'S' stands for Sport. It first appeared with the R 50 S and R 69 S and then again in 1973 with the R 90 S. More recently, the R 1100 S, R 1200 S and K 1200 S have proudly worn the 'S' designation. There was a BMW car model series in the Sixties called 'Coupé Sport', or 'CS'.

Current production With the exception of the G310 series (which is produced at TVS's Tamil Nadu, India plant), all BMW Motorrad's motorcycle production takes place at its plant in Berlin, Germany. Some engines are manufactured in Austria, China, and Taiwan.
