Spicy Sweet Chili Doritos are one of our favourite kinds. A little kick of spicy, a kick of sweet, and that Doritos crunch make these chips a little bit of perfection. These chips were released in April 2008.

The secret's out: Soy sauce is what makes these Doritos great. Yep, these Doritos list soy sauce in the ingredients label, and once you know that's what you're tasting, you won't be able to think of anything else. Soy sauce is the magic juice, man, the reason so many foods end up tasting awesome.

Doritos contain animal products and therefore are not considered Halal. They don't state what type of rennet the cheese products within it use; if it's animal rennet, the cheese would not be considered halal.

History. The term dorito is a contraction of Spanish doradito (little fried and golden thing), which is a diminutive of dorado (fried and golden thing). The original product was made at the Casa de Fritos (now Rancho Del Zocalo) at Disneyland in Anaheim, California, during the early 1960s.

The coating has a little bit of sugar, which lends it's sweetness, and the chili adds the heat. The spice level is much milder than the Doritos Flamas or Spicy Nacho flavors, but it's not as mild as the Cool Ranch or Nacho Cheese. It's a play on an Asian flavor, so there's chili and soy sauce flavors in there too.

“Speaking of fat and sugar, Doritos have an almost perfectly balanced mix. The 2 main ingredients are corn (carbohydrates) and vegetable oils (fats). The calories in a Doritos chip are split almost exactly 50/50 between carbs and fat (each bag contains 3 cobs of corn). This mixture is called “non-specific aroma”.

Number four apparently. Your brain is into food that has a good ratio of fat. Doritos have a perfect 50/50 ratio which is a pretty alarming. Fact actually but your brain is real.

If you are eating beef chips, fried chicken nuggets, or chicken meat chips in a restaurant or from the bag, ensure the meat is processed as per the halal rules. Make sure to avoid pork chips at all costs as they are visibly haram.
