How it's given: Neulasta can be given as an injection or as a patch applied to your skin. The injection is usually given once during each chemotherapy cycle, at least 24 hours after the last dose of chemotherapy in the cycle and 14 days before the first dose of chemotherapy in the next cycle.

UDENYCA® is injected the day following chemotherapy to boost the growth of white blood cells. UDENYCA® is given as an injection by your healthcare team. You will receive one injection following each chemo cycle. The in-office injection allows for a next-day follow-up.

Neulasta® Onpro® helps protect you from febrile neutropenia A study of 928 patients with breast cancer showed that when given once every chemotherapy cycle, Neulasta® helped protect against the risk of infection and reduced hospitalizations.

It is safe to remove the on-body injector after checking the following: The status light should be solid green. If the status light is flashing green, the dose delivery is not complete. Wait until you hear a long beep and the status light turns solid green before removing your on-body injector.

Administration of filgrastim or pegfilgrastim within 24 hours before or after chemotherapy is not currently recommended because of the theoretical potential for increasing chemotherapy toxicity to myeloid progenitor cells after growth factor stimulation.

For the prevention of febrile neutropenia, a 6 mg dose of pegfilgrastim is given to the patient at least 24 hours after receiving chemotherapy. [1] It has two administration options; one is a pre-filled syringe and the other an on-body injector.

Your course of chemotherapy You usually have a course of several cycles of treatment over a few months. Each cycle of TC takes 21 days (3 weeks). On the first day of each cycle, you will have docetaxel and cyclophosphamide. You will then have no chemotherapy for the next 20 days.

If counts on day one are below these criteria for neutrophil and/or platelets then delay treatment for seven days. Only re-start treatment when these levels are reached. In general if the neutrophil or platelet counts are below these levels consider stopping treatment.

The on-body injector is designed to automatically deliver your Neulasta® dose over 45 minutes, approximately 27 hours after application. Once your dose is complete, remove the injector and dispose of it according to the Patient Instructions for Use.

For Neulasta to have its best effect, it needs to go into the body 24 to 72 hours after chemotherapy.

The Neulasta On-body Injector is applied to the skin usually on the same day as chemotherapy, it is designed to automatically start dispensing the Neulasta 27 hours from the time it was applied and it is slowly released over a 45 minute period.

The pegylated filgrastim is recommended to be administered not less than 24 hours following chemotherapy and not less than 14 days prior to chemotherapy based on the theoretic concern that marrow suppression would be accentuated.
