What is 2016 Cadillac CT6?

The 2016 Cadillac CT6 was introduced as a new flagship model for the brand. The luxury sedan was designed to compete with other high-end vehicles in its class, like the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and BMW 7 Series.

The CT6 was built on a new lightweight aluminum chassis, which helped to make it one of the lightest cars in its segment. Despite its light weight, however, the CT6 was packed with advanced features and technologies. For example, it came with Cadillac's Super Cruise driver assistance system that allowed for partially autonomous driving on highways.

Under the hood, the 2016 CT6 could be equipped with one of three different engine options. The base 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine produced 265 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. An optional 3.6-liter V6 engine offered 335 horsepower and 284 lb-ft of torque, while a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 was available with 404 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque.

Inside the car, the CT6 had a spacious and luxurious cabin with high-quality materials. The car was also fitted with a range of advanced technologies, including a 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 360-degree camera system, and a rear-seat entertainment system.

Overall, the 2016 Cadillac CT6 offered a great combination of luxury, performance, and cutting-edge features. Its lightweight design and powerful engine options made it a strong competitor in the luxury sedan market.

Cadillac ended production of the CT6 for the US market in early 2020 but the luxobarge remained on sale in China. Large sedans equipped with combustion engines are still relevant in the world's second-most populous country, so much so it's getting a sequel. Meet the 2024 CT6, now with a fresh look inside and out.

Sixty-four percent of the CT6 body structure is aluminum, including all exterior body panels. Thirteen complex high-pressure die cast components make up the lower structure of the CT6 body, along with aluminum sheets and extrusions.

2020 Cadillac CT6-V (200 mph/322 km/h) The 2020 Cadillac CT6-V was an impressive sports sedan. It could go from 0 to 60 mph (0 - 100 km/h) in just 3.8 seconds and complete a quarter-mile dash in 12.2 seconds.

Despite a 3.8-second run to 60 mph and a 12.2-second quarter-mile time, the all-wheel-drive CT6-V never feels aggressively quick. The Blackwing makes its peak torque relatively late for a turbocharged engine, at 3400 rpm. Power tops out at 5000 revs, and the limiter shuts down the party at just 6000 rpm.

Cadillac is General Motors' flagship luxury automaker. Cadillac has a range of luxury SUVs, from small crossovers like the XT4 to the XT5, XT6, and the full-size Escalade. Other vehicles include coupes and sedans, as well as performance-oriented V-Series models like the ATS-V and CTS-V.

Its list of standard features includes adaptive dampers, rear-wheel steering, head-up display, a heated steering wheel, heated rear seats, four-zone climate control, a rear-seat entertainment system, and more.

The Cadillac CT6 is made in China by SAIC-GM. This is the current CT6. A looker for sure but not as striking as the new one. Power comes from a four-cylinder gasoline engine with an output of 237 hp and 350 Nm.

Regardless of engine, the CT6 is hands down the most satisfying large sedan out there to drive, even if its actual performance numbers fall short of the competition's.

Engine: 3-liter twin-turbo V-6 | Power: 404 hp | Zero to 60 mph: 5 seconds | Top speed: 150 mph (limited) | Starting price: $87,465 Comfortable, with excellent handling and acceleration.

So, without further ado, here they are. Compared to the CTS, the CT6 is larger inside and out in every dimension except for front legroom, which is roughly the same as the CTS.
