The Defender 130 adds 340mm behind the rear axle of the Defender 110, which means both SUVs are identical up until the C-pillar, including the wheelbase. However, the Defender 130 has a much longer rear overhang, which reduces the departure angle of the SUV to 28.5deg from the 110's 40deg.

Available in 90, 110, and 130 body styles, the reputable off-roader is made at a factory in Slovakia. To reduce the backlog of orders, JLR has added a third shift at the plant in Nitra where it builds the go-anywhere SUV.

1983 The 130 was introduced in late 1983. This is a stretched 110 with 17" added to the wheelbase and an additional cross member added in the centre. Despite the 130 name the wheel base is actually 127", having said that there are some 130" wheel base vehicles which tend to reside in Europe.

The big change here is the interior package: The 130 clearly was designed to accommodate three rows of seating. Its back bench has sufficient headroom and an additional 11.2 inches legroom for teens or even average-size adults, although foot room is tight.

The Land Rover Defender 130 is mostly the same truck as its Defender 90 and 110 siblings, just with extra length at the rear and a few extra seats. That extra length does slightly reduce its off-road capability with tighter departure and break-over angles, but it's an admittedly small difference.
