The FreeStyle Libre 2 sensor is based on the same wired-enzyme technology as the FreeStyle Libre sensor. The key difference is that the FreeStyle Libre 2 sensor utilizes Bluetooth that enables the optional glucose alarms. The FreeStyle Libre 2 sensor is the same size, colour and shape as the FreeStyle Libre sensor.

When in range, the FreeStyle Libre 2 system automatically communicates to give you Low and High Glucose Alarms if they are turned on. The Low Glucose Alarm notifies you if your glucose drops below the level you set. The High Glucose Alarm notifies you if your glucose rises above the level you set.
