Other information. this is a 1-dose treatment. Most women do not get complete relief of their symptoms in just 1 day. Most women get some improvement in 1 day and complete relief by 7 days.

When using MONISTAT® as directed, you may start to get relief of symptoms in a few hours. If your symptoms do not get better in 3 days or symptoms last more than 7 days, these may be signs that you may have a more serious condition.

You should start to feel some improvement in symptoms within 3 days of starting Monistat. If the burning feeling doesn't go away after 7 days, contact your healthcare provider.

MONISTAT® works at the site of the infection, curing yeast infections just as effectively as fluconazole while relieving symptoms much sooner.

Official answer. You may shower in the morning, but it is not required.

For treatment to be effective, your patient must take all 3 doses over 3 consecutive days. All MONISTAT® products can take up to 7 days for full clinical cure.

What Else Should I Know About Monistat 1? You may have a temporary mild increase in vaginal symptoms like burning and irritation. Stop using Monistat and call your healthcare provider if you have a rash, hives, fever, chills, vaginal discharge that smells bad, or stomach issues like nausea, vomiting, or stomach pain.

What side effects may occur with MONISTAT® antifungal products? A mild increase in vaginal burning, itching, irritation or headache may occur when the product is used. Abdominal cramping has also been reported.

If you're using an over-the-counter yeast infection treatment, you should wait at least 24 hours after completing the full course of treatment before having sex again. It's best to wait a few days if you're still experiencing symptoms.

After a single dose of tioconazole, this medication should continue to work for about a week. Some people start to experience relief from yeast infection symptoms in as early as a day.
