What is Disney Video Games Infinity Version 2.0?

Disney Infinity Version 2.0 was a popular video game that was developed by Avalanche Software and published by Disney Interactive Studios. It was released in September 2014 and was the second installment in the Disney Infinity series.

The game featured several popular Disney, Marvel, and Star Wars characters including Iron Man, Spider-Man, Hulk, Captain America, and more. Players could use these characters to explore various virtual worlds, complete missions, and engage in battles against enemies. The game had an open-world structure where players could customize their characters, vehicles, and buildings, and progress through the game at their own pace.

One of the key features of Disney Infinity Version 2.0 was the introduction of the Toy Box mode. This mode allowed players to create their own custom game worlds using various tools and items, and share them with other players online. This mode proved to be immensely popular with fans of the game and led to a large and active community.

Another notable aspect of the game was the inclusion of a Marvel storyline. This storyline centered around the Mad Titan, Thanos, and his quest to gather the Infinity Stones. This storyline proved popular with fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and helped to further solidify Disney Infinity's reputation as a must-play game for fans of Disney, Marvel, and Star Wars.

Overall, Disney Infinity Version 2.0 was a well-received video game that proved to be a hit with fans of all ages. Its rich world-building, customization options, and inclusion of popular Disney properties helped to make it a standout title in the crowded video game market. Despite the game's success, however, Disney ultimately discontinued the Disney Infinity series in 2016, citing declining sales numbers.

action-adventure sandbox toys Disney Infinity was an action-adventure sandbox toys-to-life video game series developed by Avalanche Software. The setting of the series was a giant customizable universe of imagination, known as the Toy Box, populated with toy versions of iconic Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars characters.

When Disney Infinity first debuted in Q3 2013 the supply didn't meet demand and production could barely keep up to maintain appropriate inventory levels at retail, so by the time Disney Infinity 2.0 came around - based entirely on Marvel - they over-produced big time.

Coupled with the lack of new titles or toys, and the fire sale of figures that took place following the server closure, this move effectively marked the end for Disney Infinity. Yes, you can technically still buy a copy, and scrounge marketplaces for figures, but the heart of the game is gone.

Look, “Disney Infinity” was not a flop. It made a lot of money, but not enough money to be worth a continued investment from Disney. It was a failure, but it was closer to the middle of the success/failure spectrum than the end. It was still on the wrong side of middle, though.
