Unilever's Almost exactly a year ago, Unilever's Klondike brand announced that it would be venturing into a new category: Ice cream cones. The launch included six flavors with two different ones in each box. Now the company is expanding the Klondike Cones line with new flavors, so good luck deciding where to start.

Drumstick ice cream cones are an American classic. Vanilla ice cream, chocolate shell and peanuts all piled into a waffle cone–they are delicious from top to bottom–but my version cuts many of the stabilizers, additives and preservatives from the store version and is still big on flavor.

Inspired by soft serve ice cream cones and its swirly fluted top, Klondike cones offer a delightful eating experience and a perfect combination of rich and creamy flavor, crispy cone, crunchy toppings, and indulgent gooey sauce from top to tip.

Manufactured by the Isaly Dairy Company of Mansfield, Ohio, Isaly launched six unique ice cream bar flavors for 10 cents each. Klondike bars were considered an affordable treat for the working-class. Its success made its way to expand production into Youngstown, Ohio and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Although the Klondike® Bar has its roots in America, its name rings Canadian. It's rumoured that the bar was named after the Klondike River in Canada's west central Yukon Territory, which was the famous site of the 1890s Gold Rush.
