It's a pretty unremarkable survival movie from then on, but efficiently so in the shortest of bursts, thanks to a physically committed Driver taking it all rather seriously and some moments of decent enough jeopardy.

He's about to embark on a two-year exploratory mission in order to afford medical treatment for his ailing daughter (Chloe Coleman from “My Spy,” who's featured in the film's prelude and sporadic video snippets).

Where does 65 take place? Perhaps the question is not so much where, but when. The story takes place 65 million years ago - hence the title - on very ancient Earth.

Although Texas Instruments Incorporated was first to market with its Regency transistor radio in 1955, it was Sony's TR-63, an inexpensive shirt-pocket-sized all-transistor radio, that caught consumers' attention when it was released in 1957.

Sam Raimi is among the producers of the film. 65 was filmed at Second Line Stages in New Orleans, Ardmore Studios in Ireland, and Sony Pictures Studios in California. Kisatchie National Forest in Louisiana was among the filming locations.

65 (2023) Rated PG-13 for intense sci-fi action and peril, and brief bloody images.

As exciting as many of 65's action sequences are, it's really Mills and Koa's ability to bond over their grief that keeps them alive. It's only fitting then that 65 ends on an image that highlights both connection and loneliness in equal measure.
