In ScentLok garments, the human odor enters the activated carbon pores and typically forms a physical bond. This bond is called van der Waals interaction and the bonds break in a household dryer allowing for another round of adsorption.

about 40 minutes To reactivate your ScentLok carbon clothing, place your gear in a household dryer and cycle on medium heat for about 40 minutes. We recommend spraying the inside of your dryer with ScentLok Field Sprays to help neutralize any unwanted odors that exist in your dryer.

Scent-Lok combines three things - activated carbon, another specially treated carbon that they say adsorbs the hydrogen sulfide typically found in human breath, and a mineral called zeolite, which is effective in adsorbing other kinds of powerful odors, like ammonia.

This device emits ozone particles, which bond with and mask the human scent molecules they come into contact with. I use a similar device in my totes to eliminate scent on my clothing prior to hunts as well.

An antimicrobial is an agent that kills or inhibits the growth of bacteria. Unlike activated carbon and zeolite, which trap human odors, antimicrobials actually penetrate the cell walls of bacteria and prevent reproduction. Antimicrobial materials such as silver are applied to fabrics to control human odor.
