WWE action figures are poseable action figures based on wrestlers and personalities of WWE. They are currently manufactured by Mattel and have formerly been manufactured by Jakks and Hasbro.

In 1996, Jakks Pacific added 15 points of articulation, moving legs, heads and a level of detail not seen up until this time. Mattel is the fourth company to produce WWE figures starting in January 2010.

Each WWE® action figure is approximately 6 in tall and at authentic "Superstar Scale."

Wrestling action figures were the brainchild of Richard Derwald of Buffalo NY who sold the idea to LJN in the summer of 1984. (Video in references). They were made by the toy and video game company LJN from 1984 to 1989.

Ruth and Elliot Handler joined with Harold “Matt” Matson to form Mattel Creations in 1945. The Mattel name was a combination of Harold's nickname Matt and part of Elliot's name.

The Company's first big hit is the Uke-A-Doodle, a child-sized instrument designed to make music more interactive and accessible. Mattel is incorporated with headquarters in Los Angeles.

The company began selling picture frames and later dollhouse furniture out of the scraps from those frames. Matson sold his share and stake to the Handlers due to poor health the following year, with Handler's wife, Ruth, taking over his stake.

WWF Wrestling Superstars by LJN were the first action figures based on wrestlers of the WWF.

Through a combination of rarity and desirability, some of these action figures end up being worth a small fortune. Though most of the really expensive ones feature popular wrestlers who were celebrated throughout their careers, being a beloved icon is not enough to shield someone from the ongoing march of capitalism.
