Air-purifying respirators (APRs) Below are the different types of APRs. FFRs are disposable respirators that cover the nose and mouth. EHMRs are reusable respirators and cover the nose and mouth. Elastomeric full facepiece respirators are reusable and cover the nose, mouth, and eyes.

3M supplied air respirators require a source of clean breathing air. This air can be delivered to hoods, helmets, full facepieces, half facepieces and loose-fitting facepieces. Complete systems include a supplied air hose, an air regulating valve, a breathing tube, and a helmet, hood, or other facepiece.

3M™ Particulate Filters provide protection against a wide range of dusts, mist and other particles. 3M particulate filters offer low breathing resistance and good balance with a slim, swept back profile, designed to optimise your field of vision when wearing the respirator.

Did you know that 3M™ Filters are designed to filter aerosols in hazardous environments? For dust, mists, fumes, smoke, mould, bacteria and more, some filters even have nuisance-level gas and vapour capabilities. These respirators help reduce exposures to certain airborne particulates.

The facepieces are made of synthetic or natural rubber material that allow repeated cleaning, disinfection, storage, and reuse. EHMRs can be used to protect against gases, vapors, and particles if equipped with the appropriate filters or cartridges.

Two basic types of respirators are: • air-purifying; and • supplied-air respirators. Air-purifying respirators remove airborne contaminants such as particles, toxic vapors, and/or gases. They are appro- priate for use in environments of low-level contamination and in environments where there is sufficient oxygen.

NIOSH-Approved Respirators The most widely available are N95 respirators, but other types (N99, N100, P95, P99, P100, R95, R99, and R100) offer the same or better protection as an N95 respirator.

It is similar to a self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), except that SCBA users carry their air with them in high pressure cylinders, while SAR users get it from a remote stationary air supply connected to them by a hose.

3M™ Gas & Vapor Cartridges These cartridges utilize sorbent material to filter the gas or vapor molecules. Typically the sorbent is activated carbon. Different chemical treatments may also be added to the surface of the activated carbon to adsorb different types of gases or vapors.

3M P100 filter compatible with 3M respirators series 6000, 7000 and Ultimate FX (FF-400). NIOSH 42 CFR 84 approved. Sold in pairs. This type of filter is made of randomly distributed fiberglass membrane.

It is used to separate fine solid particles from liquids or gases. Filter paper: used for separating solid from liquid. The raw materials are different paper pulps. The pulp may be made from softwood, hardwood, fiber crops, or mineral fibers.
