“E la vita, la vita” by Cochi and Renato, written with Dario Fo and Enzo Jannacci, has been chosen for the new Nutella ad. Lo Stato Sociale, a band from Bologna, performs the song. This bursting-with-energy version represents Nutella's essence perfectly.

In 1963, Ferrero's son Michele Ferrero revamped Supercrema gianduja with the intention of marketing it throughout Europe. Its composition was modified, and it was renamed "Nutella". The first jar of Nutella left the factory in Alba on April 20, 1964. The product was an instant success and remains widely popular.

At that point, they decided to select the name Nutella from the English word “Nut” and the Latin word “Ella” meaning sweet.
