THE CLASSIC. Our 100% mountain spring water is sourced from naturally occurring mountain springs in California, Colorado, and Canada and we believe there are a lot of things that put us a sip above the rest.

The Arrowhead Springs Co. began bottling in 1909, serving Southern California from a location just north of San Bernardino. The plant moved to Los Angeles in 1917 and added a Department of Distilled Water in 1922 (Figures 5 & 6). The firm merged with the Puritas Water Co.

This journey, down into the aquifer then back up through layers of marble and quartz crystals, is what gives Mountain Valley Spring Water its unique mineral content of calcium, magnesium and potassium as well as its pure, refreshing and award-winning flavor.

OUR ORIGINAL SPRING SOURCE Our namesake spring can be found on a mountain in the San Bernardino range just east of Los Angeles. These mountains have beautiful hiking trails and spectacular views.

All told, Mountain Valley has a TDS level of 220 mg/L with a slightly alkaline pH of 7.3. In the case of Mountain Valley Spring Water, a few all-natural TDS can go a long way to a healthier more hydrated life. 1871 - We originated from Hot Springs, Arkansas and were originally known as “Lockett's Spring Water,” until pharmacist Peter E. Greene and his brother, John Greene renamed our mineral rich spring water Mountain Valley after a small community nearby. 1883 - The Mountain Valley Water Company was officially formed.

Many mountains are formed of limestone and have caves and water flowing inside them. Underground water doesn't climb from below the mountain, but form water tables inside the mountain, where the water meets a non-permeable rock layer. Where the water table intersects the mountain slope, there is a spring.
