TRINTELLIX is a prescription medicine used in adults to treat a certain type of depression called Major Depressive Disorder (MDD).

TRINTELLIX has been proven to effectively treat the overall symptoms of MDD in adults.

Trintellix may be used to treat major depressive disorder (MDD) in adults. Although not FDA-approved to treat anxiety, Trintellix has been used off-label to treat generalized anxiety disorder (GAD). It appears to work best in those with severe GAD (HAMA of >25). Trintellix is an oral tablet that is taken once a day.

Trintellix is only available as a brand-name drug. It doesn't come in a generic version. A generic drug is an exact copy of the active drug in a brand-name medication. Generics tend to cost less than brand-name drugs.

How long does it take for TRINTELLIX to start working? The therapeutic effect of TRINTELLIX was generally seen starting at week 2, while the full antidepressant effect was generally not seen until week 4, or later. These results were based on a standardized depression rating scale in 6‑ to 8‑week studies.

It has shown a lower risk of weight gain than other antidepressant medications. In comparison with other antidepressants, Trintellix has a reduced risk of sexual dysfunction. Trintellix has similar side effects compared with other SSRI antidepressants.
