In summary, Strange New Worlds picks up where Discovery left off, providing setup for The Original Series. Of course, following the various TOS movies, there's Star Trek: The Next Generation with Captain Jean-Luc Picard and Data, taking place in the early 24th century.

As the mysterious Kovich, who may be a Section 31 agent, explains to Dr. Hugh Culber, there was a 24th century Starfleet officer named Lt. Commander Yor who was a time soldier and a veteran of the Temporal Wars.

There is no particular reason for Kovich to be so secretive about who is in charge of the Federation unless he is interested in keeping his own identity under wraps. Taken together with his Federation knowledge, this moment provides compelling evidence for Kovich being the Federation President.

Some members of Species 10-C were able to evacuate, but many were stranded on their planet and killed. By 3190, the 10-C had created a hyperfield that served to protect their new home from danger. This hyperfield required boronite to be powered, which was harvested through the use of the DMA.
