Directions

This medication is for use in the nose. In adults, the usual dose is 2 sprays in each nostril once or twice a day or as directed by your doctor. In children, the usual dose is 1 to 2 sprays in each nostril once daily or as directed by the doctor. Avoid spraying this medication in your eyes or mouth.

You should only spray Nasacort (triamcinolone acetonide) into your nostrils one time each day. The medication should help relieve your allergy symptoms for up to 24 hours. Spraying Nasacort (triamcinolone acetonide) more than once a day can put you at higher risk for side effects such as sore throat and nosebleeds.

Triamcinolone Nasal Spray. Nasacort® is a brand of triamcinolone. It treats allergy symptoms like sneezing and a runny nose. It works by decreasing inflammation in your nose to help you breathe easier.

If you use a medicated decongestant nasal spray for more than 3 days in a row, you may develop rebound rhinitis medicamentosa (RM) when you do stop. This condition can cause prolonged sinus congestion. It may even damage your nasal passages over time. RM can be quite uncomfortable.

Rhinitis medicamentosa typically lasts for as long as you overuse nasal sprays. The more you continue to use nasal sprays, the worse your symptoms could get. Rhinitis medicamentosa is a type of nasal congestion resulting from overusing nasal sprays. It may cause an itchy, stuffy or runny nose.

You should check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure about how to use Nasacort Allergy after reading this leaflet. The medicine only works if it is used regularly. It can take 3 to 4 days before you notice your symptoms getting better.

When used at bedtime, Nasacort Allergy 24HR also may help relieve sleep issues that arise due to allergies.

Serious side effects of Nasacort

• Body aches or pain.
• chills.
• congestion.
• diarrhea.
• dryness or soreness of the throat.
• fever.
• general feeling of discomfort or illness.
• headache.

If you stop using Nasacort If you stop using this medicine, your symptoms may return within a few days. If you experience any side effects (withdrawal symptoms) after stopping this medicine suddenly after prolonged use, talk to your doctor. See section 4 'Possible side effects' for more information.

Both Nasacort® and ZYRTEC® treat allergy symptoms but in different ways. ZYRTEC® is an oral antihistamine that comes in multiple forms and relieves itchy eyes and throat. It works fast2 and stays strong day after day on both indoor and outdoor allergies. Nasacort®ingredients are delivered via steroid nasal spray.

Do not use more often, use more sprays, or use longer than directed because doing so may increase the risk of side effects. Also, do not use this medication for more than 3 days or it may cause a condition called rebound congestion.
