She treats her children like accessories, dumping them off at her parents while she pursues her questionable comedy career.

Joan Rivers Midge Maisel Was Based On Joan Rivers Though Midge saw greater success in the early stages of her career than Joan Rivers, both Rivers and Midge performed at the real-life club, the Gaslight Café, located in New York's Greenwich Village. Another significant tie between the two comediennes is Lenny Bruce.

Maisel season 3 is Sterling K. Brown who plays Shy Baldwin's manager Reggie. From the moment you meet him in episode 2, it's clear Reggie is willing to do whatever it takes to help his musician client get ahead.
