CSU Global was established using a $12 million loan from the CSU Board of Governors, (which it has already paid back), on August 24, 2007, with a central goal of meeting the educational needs of adult learners in the State of Colorado and beyond by providing high quality online programs.

Is CSU Global the Same as CSU? While CSU Global is part of the Colorado State University System and governed by the CSU System Board of Governors, we are operationally separate from CSU and CSU-Pueblo. CSU Global operates under its own Mission, Vision, and Values.

eight-week CSU Global offers eight-week accelerated courses with start dates occurring every month. There are three trimesters (Fall, Winter, Spring), each with four terms (A, B, C, D). You can choose either the burgundy or the gold track depending on when you want to start classes.

San Jose State University The oldest campus - San Jose State University - was founded in 1857 and became the first institution of public higher education in California. The newest campus - California State University, Channel Islands - opened in fall 2002, with freshmen arriving in fall 2003.

Colorado State University is one of the nation's top public Tier 1 Research universities and an institution on the rise.

Founded in 1876, the comprehensive research university has more than 30,000 undergraduate and graduate students. CU Boulder is an AAU Tier-1 research university, the only one in the Rocky Mountain region.

UC schools operate as residential campuses focusing on research and graduate education. CSU schools, in contrast, largely enroll commuter students who do not live on campus. Their campuses also emphasize practical, career-focused training over research-heavy disciplines.

UC schools tend to have a better academic reputation than Cal State schools. When it comes to college rankings, for example, UC schools top many lists. Institutions like UC Berkeley, UCLA, and UC San Diego rank among the best public universities in the country, while CSU schools tend to rank lower.

For financial aid eligibility, full-time status for undergraduates is defined as 12 or more units. For more information, visit the Financial Aid website. For international undergraduate students, the U.S. government requires students using F-1 and J-1 visas to register and complete at least 12 units to maintain status.

Our on-campus orientation is a 2 day program that allows students to connect with peers, campus resources, and current students, take a campus tour, and participate in group advising and register for classes. Students will stay overnight in a residence hall on campus and eat meals in our dining halls.
