ARP offers two styles of Flywheel bolts: premium grade Pro Series, with a 200,000 psi rating and High Performance, with a 180,000 psi rating.

The ARP flywheel bolts attach the flywheel to the crankshaft. Here, tremendous forces occur, which these bolts must absolutely withstand, under all conditions.

The flywheel is connected to the crankshaft via the flywheel bolts, which are typically made of high-strength steel to withstand the high torque and pressure of the engine. They are threaded at one end and have a head on the other end, which is tightened against the flywheel.

The ARP Custom Age 625+ bolts provide complete resistance to corrosion and oxidization making it the ideal material of choice in the high strength, super-alloy applications. ARP was the first to utilize the Custom Age 625+ material in manufacturing and testing procedures.

Increased performance: ARP flywheel bolts can help to increase horsepower and torque by reducing the amount of flex in the flywheel and clutch assembly. This allows the engine to make more power and run more efficiently.

Product Specifications

Tighten all bolts evenly, ¼ turn at a time in a crisscross pattern until flywheel is completely drawn-up to the crankshaft. Torque all bolts in 3 steps: First to 25 ft/lbs. then 60 ft/lbs. Final torque to: 78 - 80 ft/lbs.

Standard Weight Flywheels They can be made of cast Iron, nodular iron, or billet steel and are excellent choices for street, truck, off road and naturally aspirated drag cars.

All ARP bolts and studs are fine grain – usually ASTM 8 or finer. With 10 being the finest.

Cast iron flywheels Cast grey iron flywheels are cost-effective, have good castability and wear resistance nature, but it is ideal for vehicles engines that run less than 6000 rpm. Nodular iron or ductile iron is preferred over grey iron for its impact resistance, elongation and yield strength ductile properties.
