ARP manufactures fasteners from a wide assortment of materials ranging from popular stainless steel and 8740 chrome moly to exotic alloys that have been developed to handle space travel. You should also know that there are grades within specific alloys.

170,000 to 190,000 psi This material is perfect in marine applications but also for many automotive ones. It's beautiful, and it won't rust or corrode. ARP "Stainless 300" is specially alloyed for durability, and the tensile strength is typically rated at 170,000 to 190,000 psi.

Aerospace Recommended Practice (ARP) is a set of guidelines that helps organizations develop and maintain software applications for airborne systems. It has been replaced in many cases by DO-178B/C & DO-254, which are more specific and rigorous.

ARP has several important types: Proxy ARP, Gratuitous ARP, Reverse ARP and Inverse ARP. All of these types serve as communication protocols on the local area network. Unfortunately, the ARP protocol is vulnerable to spoofing, a type of malicious cyberattack performed by cybercriminals.

Size and strength: ASTM A193 B7 stud bolts with a diameter of 2.5 inches or less will have a yield strength of 105,000 PSI. Grade B7 fasteners with a stud diameter of 2-5/8″ to 4″ diameter have a lower yield strength of 95,000 PSI. 4″ to 7″ inch stud bolts have an even lower yield strength of 75,000 PSI.

grade 8 bolt A grade 8 bolt is the highest grade SAE bolt. Grade 8 bolts have a minimum tensile strength of 150,000 PSI. As a comparison, the ASTM A325 bolt is roughly equivalent to the SAE grade 5. A grade 8 bolt would be one that meets ASTM A490 standards.

The high-strength, sought-after grade 8 bolt can be distinguished by six raised dashes. Its medium-carbon alloy steel has been quenched and tempered, ultimately making it possible to achieve an impressive tensile strength of 150,000 psi, compared to a grade 2 bolt's 64,000 psi.
