It's been nearly two years since Superman's (Henry Cavill) colossal battle with Zod (Michael Shannon) devastated the city of Metropolis. Although there are only a few small scenes added, it's a wonder how much of a difference these brief moments can make in the greater context of the film. The Ultimate Edition shows more scenes of Superman rescuing people, as well as giving more context for his actions.

Comic accuracy is a problem in some places as it pertains to Superman and Batman's characters, but there are definitely aspects of the movie that do come straight from the comics. It makes the movie more fun for fans of the comic, even if they have other problems with the film.

However, an ultimate edition of Dawn of Justice was eventually released, and it was R-rated due to "sequences of violence." This version of the sequel was longer and it includes expanded storylines for some of its minor characters.

The pacing is perfect and this movie is much more balanced between superman and batman compared to the theatrical cut. Many of those additional 30 minutes are Clark Kent scenes that was cut. The desert scene in this version is also different and the movie makes much more sense. I really think this is a great movie.
