The Purple Hybrid Premier 3 is a hybrid mattress, much like the regular Purple Hybrid. It uses the patented Purple hyper-elastic polymer grid, which is designed for bounce, fast response, low motion transfer, and maximum airflow.

12 inches thick The Purple Hybrid Premier 3 is 12 inches thick with a thicker Hyper-Elastic Polymer comfort layer. This makes it feel a bit softer and lands around a medium to medium-firm on the scale. This bed is suitable for all types of sleeping positions including side sleepers.

The Purple Hybrid Premier 3.0 uses an additional inch of Hyper-Elastic Polymer. As the pattern continues, the only real difference between Purple 3 and 4 that Purple 4 has a 4” Polymer layer.

Is Purple 3 worth the money? The Purple 3 mattress or Purple Hybrid Premier is on the pricier side compared to other bed in a box mattresses, but it'll be worth it for people who want a supportive, pressure relieving mattress that's unlike any other bed out there.

The average thickness of mattresses ranges between 8 to 14 inches. The best mattress should have a comfort layer that's at least 2-3 inches thick and a base layer that's at least 6-8 inches thick.

The Purple Hybrid Premier options range in thickness. The Purple Hybrid Premier 3 is a bit firmer than the 4. The top layer of each version of the Purple Hybrid Premier mattress is Purple's proprietary Smart Comfort Grid.

However, the Purple Hybrid Premier 4 does have a little more sinkage, which is likely to yield better pressure relief (especially for heavier weight and side sleepers). In our tests of the Purple Hybrid Premier 3 mattress, we measured a sinkage depth of 2.21”.
