The SLE is the next trim level up and comes equipped with the same base engine options. The exterior is mostly the same as the SL but with body paint mirrors on most models and slightly more use of chrome accents.

The SLE is rated to deliver an average of 20 miles per gallon, with a highway range of 528 miles. The SLT is rated to deliver an average of 18 miles per gallon, with a highway range of 504 miles. This gives the GMC Sierra 1500 SLE the fuel efficiency and maximum range advantage over the GMC Sierra 1500 SLT.

Another key difference between the SLT and SLE trims is the interior styling and features. SLT seats are trimmed with perforated leather, while the SLE seats are premium cloth. The SLT also offers a standard upgraded eight-way power front driver's seat.

SLE is the entry model, SLT is the upgrade model with leather and other options. SLE-1 package is the most basic package offered, SLE-2 has a few upgrades but retains cloth seating surfaces, SLT-1 adds leather seats and some other options, SLT-2 is fully loaded with navigation, leather, etc.

Interior upgrades in the 2021 GMC Terrain SLT include a heated steering wheel, perforated leather seat trim, ambient interior lighting, a six-way power front passenger's seat, and eight-way power driver's seat. By comparison, the SLE is appointed with premium cloth seats and four-way manual front seats.

The 2024 Sierra 1500 Pro, SLE, Elevation and SLT Crew Cab are offered in both 2WD and 4WD configurations. 2WD can be equipped with a short bed, and 4WD can be equipped with either a short or standard bed.
