DULCOLAX is mainly used for the treatment of constipation. Under medical supervision, DULCOLAX can be used for the evacuation of the bowel before a radiological examination or as an enema alternative.

Each tablet contains Bisacodyl 5mg. Gastro-resistant tablets for oral administration. Circular, biconvex, yellow, sugar-coated and enteric-coated tablet.

Bisacodyl is used on a short-term basis to treat constipation. It also is used to empty the bowels before surgery and certain medical procedures. Bisacodyl is in a class of medications called stimulant laxatives.

You should not take Dulcolax with or immediately after meals. It must be taken on an empty stomach. It is best to take it 1-2 hours before or after having dinner. You should drink plenty of fluids while taking this medicine.

Bisacodyl is a stimulant laxative that works by increasing the amount of fluid/salts in the intestines. This effect usually results in a bowel movement within 15 to 60 minutes.

Most adults and children 12 years and older can safely take it. Some forms of bisacodyl can be given to children as young as 6 years old. The typical oral bisacodyl dosage ranges from 5 mg to 15 mg daily. The typical rectal dosage ranges from 5 mg to 10 mg daily.

How many tablets can I take? Adults and children 12 years of age and over can take 1 to 3 tablets in a single daily dose for up to 7 days. If this is the first time taking a laxative for constipation, we recommend starting with the lower dose (1 tablet), increasing up to 3 the following days if needed.

Dulcolax SP Drops generally work in 6 to 12 hours. Dulcolax SP Drops taken at night usually produce a bowel motion the following morning. Adults and children over 10 years: Initially 10 drops (5 mg) at night.

After taking Dulcolax tablets you should have a bowel movement within 12 to 72 hours. Dulcolax suppositories generally produces bowel movements in 15 minutes to 1 hour. Different people may however feel the effects at different times. Dulcolax (bisacodyl) is a laxative that stimulates bowel movements.
