Each Häagen-Dazs flavour starts with four simple ingredients – real cream, milk, eggs and sugar. To this, we add only the finest additional elements to bring each flavour to life in their own distinguishable way. We never use any artificial colours or flavours in our ice cream.

It all began in 1960 with two Polish immigrants from the Bronx. 60 years ago, two Polish immigrants from the Bronx decided to create a new luxury in ice cream. They invented a recipe, dreamed up a name and made it happen.

Unlike most other ice creams, Häagen-Dazs only ever uses 5–6 ingredients. They use REAL food which costs more than the chemicals and artificial flavors added to most other ice creams. It's a bit expensive, but I can honestly taste the difference.

Today, the Häagen-Dazs brand is owned by General Mills. General Mills produces the ice cream sold in Europe in a factory built by the Mattuses in 1992 - not in Scandanavia, but in France. However, in the states, the product is licensed to Nestlé and produced by that company's Dreyer's brand.
