The brand's standard six-inch meatball marinara sub comes in at 410 calories (via Subway), but it is healthier than it sounds. Obviously, when thinking about healthy eating, meatballs don't usually make the lean protein list. However, in this case, the sandwich has a few things going for it.

While you'll likely recognize most of the sandwiches from the old menu, there are some changes. For example, the Meatball Marinara sub will henceforth be known simply as "The Boss," with melted mozzarella cheese.

The bottom line Subway offers a better variety of healthy meal options than many other fast food restaurants.
