In Mexico City, a newly modified liquid Terminator -- the Rev-9 model -- arrives from the future to kill a young factory worker named Dani Ramos. Rev-9 is an advanced Terminator and Infiltrator series utilized by Legion in the Dark Fate timeline. A Rev-9 consists of a traditional, solid carbon-based endoskeleton covered by an outer sheath made of advanced carbon-based mimetic polyalloy.

A narrative decision in the opening sequence removes some of T2's emotional impact, damaging the saga's best movie and one of the greatest sci-fi/action films of all time. “Dark Fate” still packs enough to make this enjoyable especially for franchise fans.

In that movie, the strong-willed Sarah Connor, played by Linda Hamilton, adopts this philosophy: “The future's not set. There's no fate but what we make for ourselves.”

The Terminator franchise is about our relationship with technology and the human potential for dehumanization. We shouldn't trust the fabric of reality because the world is fragile and can change in an instant.

But ultimately the biggest problem with Terminator: Dark Fate was its failure to establish compelling new characters who could truly take the place of Hamilton and Schwarzenegger. That's why the Terminator series now seems dead-in-the-water despite Cameron's intention to reboot the franchise.

Terminator 2: Judgment Day This utterly magnificent sequel is, arguably, one of the best sequels of a franchise ever made and as such earns its spot at the top of our Terminator movies, ranked list.

Electro-Magnetic Pulse: The Rev-9 is shown to be weak to EMP, like other Terminators. This is shown when Sarah used Grace's power source as an EMP to melt him down and destroy the Rev-9.

The T-3000 is way above in a higher tier and out of the league. The Rev-9 is stronger than the T-1000, duh, because the Rev-9 is one-half T-1000. But it isn't as clear with the T-X. She can't split, thereby sharing the limitations of an endoskeleton.

A truly dark fate for the Terminator franchise. Too bad, because the film could have been good but the script is disastrous. The T-800 (Arnold Schwarzenegger) has been turned into a ridiculous parody, and after all the whole film seems like a parody of previous films.

R. The Terminator isn't just an R-rated movie - it's an '80s R-rated movie. Translation: consider this a hard R. This film is violent, and we're talking about an '80s level of violence: people are shot, run over, and blown up in spectacularly gory fashion.
