Advantage II is a monthly flea preventative for dogs and cats that offers comprehensive flea protection by killing adult fleas, larvae, and eggs. Plus, it kills fleas through contact, which means fleas don't have to bite your pet to die. Advantage II also treats, prevents, and controls lice on dogs.

Advantage II Small Dog flea and lice protection is effective on both indoor and outdoor dogs. Your dog should be at least 7 weeks old and weigh 3 to 10 lbs. to use Advantage II Small Dog.

Advantage® II flea control for dogs is easy on you, easy on your dog and hard on parasites. This once-per month, odorless topical kills flea, flea larvae, flea eggs and chewing lice through contact so they don't have to bite your dog to die. It continues to prevent re-infestation for 30 days.

Advantage® II for dogs combines two active ingredients: * Imidacloprid attacks the flea's nervous system - paralyzing and ultimately killing it. * Pyriproxyfen is an insect growth regulator (IGR) that kills flea eggs and larvae.

Advantage II is also highly effective, killing fleas within 12 hours. Fleas living in the environment that attempt to reinfest the dog will die within 2 hours of contact. Advantage II protects dogs for a full 30 days. Adhering to the recommended dosage schedule is important to prevent reinfestation.

Dosage. The recommended dosage and application instructions vary depending on your dog's weight. Advantage II for dogs comes in 4 dosage strengths and is available in quantities of 4 and 6 monthly treatments. Advantage II is safe for dogs older than 7 weeks and weighing 3 lbs or more.

Monitor your dog after application. Side effects may include signs of skin irritation such as redness, scratching, or other signs of discomfort. Gastrointestinal signs such as vomiting or diarrhea have also been reported.

Efficacy. Advantage for dogs and cats kills approximately 98% fleas within half a day of administration and chewing lice within a week's time of administration in both dogs and cats.
