The YZ250X utilizes a revised compression ratio, revised YPVS™ timing and a model-specific digital CDI unit compared to its motocross sibling - all focused on creating a broad, usable power delivery specifically suited to cross country and enduro-style competition.

This might just be the sauciest race bike in the 2022 Erzbergrodeo. Certainly it was the only Yamaha apart from Pol Tarres' Tenere 700 but it wasn't just any old YZ250X, this is pure hot sauce straight from the factory in Japan.

On the track, the YZ250X engine has a milder hit and is tractable from idle to 6500 rpm, then there is a significant dip in horsepower at 7000 rpm - right before the YZ250X picks up at 7400 rpm. Amazingly enough, at peak, which is at 8800 rpm, the YZ250X and the YZ250 are almost identical.

2016 In 2016 they stepped up their game adding the 250 two-stroke to the line with the introduction of the YZ250X. Basically a wide ratio transmission, 18" rear wheel, updated cylinder head, power valve and exhaust, side-stand, fuel reserve and some suspension fine tuning all get thrown onto the classic motocross YZ250.

And they make a CR 500e. Start. And now they just released their yz250. X II start. They had a pre-order for that where is a little bit cheaper they're about to ship those out here in November.

2023 YAMAHA YZ250 JETTING Compared to the YZ250 motocross model, the YZ250X's cylinder head has its compression ratio reduced from 8.9:1 to 7.9:1 (by increasing head volume from 21.5cc to 23.6cc). Additionally, the ignition timing has less advance in the mid-to-high range.
