Poise Impressa Bladder Supports are a comfortable alternative to incontinence pads for women that protects you from bladder leaks before they happen. The Soft-Flex* core of Impressa® is made from flexible, medical-grade silicone, surrounded with a soft, non-absorbent polypropylene covering for easy, comfortable insertion and removal. Each bladder support comes in a smooth plastic applicator and has a polyester and rayon string.

If you aren't sure if you want to commit to a pessary or have a mild prolapse there is an off the shelf product we often will recommend for patients – Poise Impressa. Although this is marketed as an incontinence device due to its shape and materials, it acts very much like a pessary. This works best for mild prolapses.

In clinical research, women have reported some temporary side effects, including temporary discomfort, vaginal spotting and vaginal soreness when using Poise Impressa Bladder Supports for the first few times. These side effects should be temporary and should not last longer than 14 days.

12 hours The Poise Impressa can be worn for 12 hours at a time, day or night. However, it should not be worn during one's menstrual cycle. After 12 hours of use, the Impressa should be removed and thrown away; it is NOT reusable.

Some ladies call it a "bladder tampon" because it looks like a tampon, but it's actually a bladder support. Tampons are absorbent. Poise® Impressa® is not. It doesn't absorb leaks.

In the past, many forms of exercise were considered 'unsafe' and not recommended for women with prolapse. We know that low impact exercise is safe for all women who have a prolapse, regardless of the strength of their pelvic floor muscles. Some examples include: Walking.

Pessaries are quite safe, although in some patients they seem to be associated with recurring bladder infections. If a pessary works for you, and it is comfortable, it can be a lifetime treatment.

How soon after treatment will I feel better? Pelvic floor exercises and changes to your lifestyle may take six to eight weeks before you start to see results. Many medications start to relax your bladder muscles after a few hours. But they may take up to a month to work fully.

Does It Really Work? According to several doctors and medical professionals, bladder training is an effective treatment option to improve urinary incontinence. However, it takes time, patience, and a lot of work. You need to commit to the long-term schedule and make it a part of your daily life.
