Elsa of Arendelle is a fictional character who appears in Walt Disney Animation Studios' computer-animated fantasy film Frozen (2013) and its sequel Frozen II (2019). She is voiced mainly by Idina Menzel, with Eva Bella as a young child and by Spencer Ganus as a teenager in Frozen.

Elsa has a magical power that allows her to create snow and ice, but this magic is dangerous to her and the people around her. To protect Anna, Elsa has been avoiding her since they were very young. At Elsa's twenty-first birthday, she is crowned queen of Arendelle.

ELSA acknowledges that children and young people learn best when they feel happier and their emotional needs are being addressed. The initiative was developed and supported by educational psychologists who used knowledge of how children develop socially and emotionally and apply this knowledge to the needs of pupils.

She wears an emerald green off-the-shoulder dress made out of ice with a right knee-high slit, just like her Snow Queen dress. Unlike her ice dress, her Frozen Fever dress has a sweetheart bodice covered in teal ice crystals that are patterned to resemble leaves and light green translucent short sleeves.

This reflects her fear of her own power and the way in which she closes herself off from everyone around her, including her sister. As she becomes more confident in her magic, she sheds these constricting garments and we see her in a dress made of ice that appears to be growing organically from her skin.

Perhaps the most obvious message in Frozen is that it's good to be courageous. Elsa fleeing her home to live on her own was bold; Anna following her was even more so. Having a feisty streak can be a very good thing!

The characters grow in their arc, becoming more mature, with stronger relationships and technically, Frozen II is a much better film than its predecessor. Anna (Kristen Bell), Elsa (Idina Menzel), Kristoff (Jonathan Groff), Olaf (Josh Gad) and Sven have become a family.

The four symbols represent water, earth, wind, and fire, and those spirits rule over the Enchanted Forest. "Frozen 2" codirector and writer Jennifer Lee says the source of Elsa's magic was a jumping off point for discussions around the story for the sequel.

It's really about reflecting on all the issues that we're facing rather than telling you how to face them. Anna and Elsa make their own choices, and I commend Anna for her ability to face a hard past and realize she has to do what's right for everyone.
