Even though it wears a plus-size wardrobe, the 2024 Audi S8 handles curves like a much smaller sports sedan. Based on the A8 luxury sedan, the S8 ups the ante with trick performance features such as rear-wheel steering and a torque-vectoring rear differential to achieve handling heroics.

The S8 is the mechanically-upgraded, high-performance version of the Audi A8, fitted standard with Audi's quattro all-wheel drive system, and was only offered with a short-wheelbase for the first three generations, being joined by a long-wheelbase variant option for the fourth generation.

The S8 is powered by a 4.0 TFSI V8 boosting power to 563 with 590 ft-lb of torque. All engines are paired with an 8-speed transmission while Quattro all-wheel drive makes handling and responsiveness impressive in all weather conditions.

With the launch of the V-10 engine in the Audi S8 and S6 sports sedans, Audi's U.S. lineup now offers seven engines, varying from four to 12 cylinders (even numbers only), and the future is rumored to involve a return of the turbocharged five-cylinder in the Audi TT-RS sports car.
