The Amazon Fire, formerly called the Kindle Fire, is a line of tablet computers developed by Amazon.

Here's a list of some of the MANY things you can do on a Kindle Fire HD or HDX:

• Browse the Internet (Web)
• Check Email (and of course write/send email)
• Connect to an HDTV*
• Hookup to Bluetooth devices (e.g. speakers, keyboards and mice)
• Listen to Audiobooks.
• Listen to Music.
• Play Apps and Games.
• Read Books.

The Fire HD 8 has an 8-inch screen and is marketed as a device for entertainment. It can also run various apps from the Amazon App Store. So while you can use it to read eBooks, it's also great for browsing the web, watching videos, enjoying streaming services, listening to music, and playing games.

The Fire HDX, formerly named Kindle Fire HDX, was a high-end model in Amazon Fire line of tablet computers. It was announced on September 25, 2013, and was available in two models, 7 inch and 8.9 inch.

On September 20, 2022, Amazon announced an update to the HD 8 as a 12th generation model. The new model is the first to run the new Fire OS 8. It also has a faster SoC and improved battery life.

Fire tablets are used for all the same tasks and activities as other Android tablets: working, playing games, watching streaming services, and browsing the internet.

To start, let's list some of the main things you can do with your Kindle Fire:

The Amazon Kindle is a device designed mainly for reading books. It is produced by Amazon and allows users to read ebooks purchased on Amazon, library ebooks, and personal documents available as PDFs, ePUBs, Microsoft DOC(X), and MOBI files.

While Amazon calls its Fire devices tablets, they're primarily meant to serve as media consumption machines for Amazon content. That means they're great for reading books, watching Prime Video, listening to Audible, or streaming Prime Music.
