The Indominus Rex is a man-made hybrid dinosaur. It was created with the DNA of other species of theropod dinosaurs (which include Carnotaurus, Giganotosaurus, Majungasurus, Rugops, Therizinosaurus, Velociraptor and Tyrannosaurus Rex), as well as modern animals such as cuttlefish, tree dart frog and pit viper.

History. The brainchild of Dr. Henry Wu, Indominus rex was originally created by InGen to revitalize public interest in Jurassic World on Isla Nublar, which, after operating successfully for over ten years, had begun to experience a decrease in visitor rates.

Indominus rex is bigger than the T-Rex and Giganotosaurus, has longer arms than a T-Rex, and possesses spines on its neck and back. The I-rex is also different in terms of color, too. Its base colors are ashy white and gray.

The Indoraptor is generally understood to be an Indominus rex cross-bred with more raptor DNA, creating a dinosaur that's better suited to combat applications.

Though it appeared as a dinosaur, the Indominus Rex was more of a monster as it was a genetic hodgepodge of everything from a T-Rex and Velociraptor to a cuttlefish and so much more. But it also featured a strange attribute that made a huge evolutionary difference to the character: thumbs.
