' It's called the Giganotosaurus – but for short, it's known as the 'Giga'. This one isn't a genetic hybrid like the Indominus and the Indoraptor – it's a scientifically-documented giant of the Late Cretaceous period. But like its scaly brethren, it's none too pleased to find itself roaming around in the modern day.

An animatronic of the Giganotosaurus was created by John Nolan Studios, which required a practical rig that was 15-20 meters long, weighed 9-25 tons, and took six hours to move from one set to another.

Giganotosaurus is the largest terrestrial carnivore in the Jurassic world, being 5.5 meters tall and 15.5 meters long and weighing 9 tons, being stronger and much bigger than even the Indominus Rex and the Spinosaurus.

The Tallest Dinosaur The tallest dinosaurs were the Brachiosaurid group of sauropods. Their front legs were longer than the rear legs giving them a giraffe-like stance. This combined with their extremely long necks, which were held vertically, meant they could browse off the tallest trees.

The Giganotosaurus also developed a rivalry with the sanctuary's Tyrannosaurus, and the Tyrannosaurus would eventually kill the Giganotosaurus with the aid of a Therizinosaurus.

Giganotosaurus carolinii The animal was named Giganotosaurus carolinii in 1995; the genus name translates to "giant southern lizard", and the specific name honors the discoverer, Ruben Carolini.

The water-loving Spinosaurus had a spiny “sail” on its back, and a crocodile-like head, neck and tail, but was much larger than the Tyrannosaurus Rex. At 50 feet long, it's the largest carnivore to walk (and swim) the Earth… that we know of.

The results of this study, which were based on estimated real global biodiversity, showed that between 628 and 1,078 non-avian dinosaur species were alive at the end of the Cretaceous and underwent sudden extinction after the Cretaceous–Paleogene extinction event.

Evidence suggests an asteroid impact was the main culprit. Volcanic eruptions that caused large-scale climate change may also have been involved, together with more gradual changes to Earth's climate that happened over millions of years.

65-million years ago during the Cretaceous age, a Gigantosaurus encountered a Tyrannosaurus Rex. The two massive apex predators fought and the larger and more powerful Gigantosaurus killed the T-rex.
