Spinosaurus is a genus of spinosaurid dinosaur in the Jurassic World Evolution series. Originating in Late Cretaceous Africa, Spinosaurus is one of the largest species of theropod dinosaurs. In Evolution, Spinosaurus is first encountered during Campaign Mode as a wild animal on Isla Sorna.

The Spinosaurus was portrayed using a combination of state-of-the-art animatronics and computer-generated imagery. In earlier versions of the film, its role would have been filled by a Baryonyx.

Spinosaurus, which was longer and heavier than Tyrannosaurus, is the largest known carnivorous dinosaur. It possessed a skull 1.75 metres (roughly 6 feet) long, a body length of 14–18 metres (46–59 feet), and an estimated mass of 12,000–20,000 kg (13–22 tons).

Named for its seven-foot-long spines, Spinosaurus lived about a hundred million years ago during the Cretaceous period. It inhabited what is now North Africa's Sahara region, which at the time featured a large river system. Spinosaurus was well adapted for aquatic life.

Spinosaurus lived between 99 and 93.5 million years ago in the Late Cretaceous Period. At that time, its North African habitat consisted of tidal flats (muddy or marshy areas that get covered by the sea) and mangrove forests.

Two species of Spinosaurus have been named: Spinosaurus aegyptiacus (meaning "Egyptian spine lizard") and the disputed Spinosaurus maroccanus (meaning "Moroccan spine lizard"). The first described remains of Spinosaurus were found and described in the early 20th century.

The body color of the Spinosaurus was a mixture of dark and light gray, a yellowed underbelly, and red splotches around its face, across its back, and at the end of its tail. The sail had blue circles, possibly for attracting the opposite sex. Like all of InGen's cloned theropods, it had pronated wrists.

Spinosaurus was well adapted for aquatic life. Its nostrils were further up on its snout than the nostrils of other dinosaurs. This would've allowed the animal to breathe even with most of its snout submerged. Its crocodile-like teeth were ideal for catching fish.
