Decoding the Maintenance Minder System “A” is a Main Item which would indicate that your engine oil should be replaced. “3” is a Sub Item which suggests that it's time to replace your vehicle's transmission fluid and transfer fluid (if equipped).

B. Replace the engine oil, oil filter, inspect the front and rear brakes, check the parking brake adjustment, and inspect other items specific to your vehicle.

Honda Maintenance Codes: Honda A Service If the Honda Maintenance Minder is displaying a Honda A Service code, it means that your vehicle is due for an oil change. Along with the Honda A Service code, the system will also inform you of the current percentage of oil life available.

The Maintenance Minder System uses the on-board computer to continuously monitor engine operating conditions such as speed, engine temperature, ambient temperature, time, and vehicle use to determine when an oil change and regular maintenance is necessary.

First, it's important to understand that there are service codes (A and B) and service sub-codes (1–7). The service code indicates an actionable need for an oil and filter change (A) or an oil and filter change with brake service and other inspections (B).

Main Honda Service Codes

B-1-2-3 Service – Oil and oil filter change, tire rotation, tire pressure check required, air cleaner element replacement, drive belt check, dust and pollen filter replacement, and transmission fluid and transfer fluid replacement (if equipped) required.

Mercedes-Benz B Service It is more costly than an A Service, but it is more extensive. You can arrange a B Service approximately one year after an A Service, and usually every 2 years subsequently, depending on the average number of miles you drive per year.

Service A is required after 10,000 miles or 1 year, while Service B is required when you reach 20,000 miles or 2 years. The services included on Service A and B are largely the same, although Service B adds a cabin air filter replacement.

Service A – Replace the engine oil. We also recommend replacing the oil filter at this time. Service B – For all Honda vehicles, replace the engine oil and oil filter, inspect the front/rear brakes, and check the parking brake adjustment. Your specific model may need further inspections.
