IrelandCeltic Thunder / Origin In 2007 producer Sharon Browne filmed the first-ever Celtic Thunder show at the Helix in Dublin, Ireland. The concept was to feature a group of men from Ireland and Scotland, who range in age from 21 to 42, and feature songs that celebrate a common Celtic heritage.

2007Celtic Thunder / Active from Since the original group's formation in 2007, Celtic Thunder has released twelve albums as well as ten live performances on DVD, three of which were split into two releases.

They were very popular. Celtic Thunder started touring North America, and regularly released new material. Billboard named the group Top World Album Artist in 2008, 2009 and 2011. Such was their popularity, that the group opened the 2009 Saint Patrick's Day Parade in NYC.

“So to do an Irish music show afterwards for me was kind of an amalgamation of a few different Irish cultures that I love, so it's been brilliant. And that was one of the things that I asked on my first show [with Celtic Thunder]: to be able to sing a song in Irish.”
