Of course the best start is to get the right size boot. First rule of thumb is to get one size larger than your regular shoe size.

They're simply not meant for the riding position on pretty much any road bike. You MUST adjust the shift and brake lever so that you come with a small movement of the toe under the lever and the brake lever so that you can step on it with a small movement upwards.

What To Keep in Mind. If your boots remain overly tight after wearing or the buckles prove difficult to close without discomfort, get a larger size.

MX boots need to be more on the tighter side. With too much room to move there is also room to twist. Everything starting with "too" is not good so too tight also but take in count most boots will get roomier when worn in.

I work solely with vegetable tanned harness leather, because of its strength, durability, colour and feel. Harness leather is steer hide which is dyed in drums and stuffed with oils and tallows.

Difference between motocross boots and enduro boots Motocross boots have significantly-firmer outsoles than enduro boots. Enduro boots have outsoles that are grippier in wet terrain (e.g. mud) since enduro riders spend much more time with their feet pushing against the ground than motocross riders.

So you start flexing. The leather part of the boot. And how long is this take um. Well then you flex the heel part of the boot. And you want to do this for about three or four hours on each boot.
