Japan Zeiss Duralyt and Conquest DL were both made in Europe, however, this is not the case with the new Conquest V4. Zeiss Conquest V4 rifle scopes are made in Japan. Currently, there are four V4 models available.

The ZMOAi-T20 reticle is ideal for hunting in open terrain or over long distances. The extremely fine minute of angle (MOA) reticle, with a subtension of only 0.06 MOA at 24x, contains MOA tick marks and dots that provide a distance of 1 MOA at reference magnification and cover a bullet drop of 20 MOA.

An illuminated reticle can also be used to provide contrast with a target darkened by its coloration or a shadow. For example, a non-illuminated reticle may be difficult to identify something like a dark brown elk standing in the shadow of a tree. An illuminated reticle is typically lit by a small LED.

I have both and prefer the Leupold. The glass may be a bit better in The Zeiss, though some people would argue that. I think the Leupold is a little easier to look through, the Zeiss seems a little harder to get lined up and I think the "eye box" is a little touchier on it. You really can't go wrong with either one.

Germany. Germany is widely seen as the best glass on the market, it is also the most expensive. However, this really is the best of the best. Almost all of the best scope manufacturers are based in or buy from Germany (or Austria, but close enough).
