Simone Biles Owens (born Simone Arianne Biles; March 14, 1997) is an American artistic gymnast. She is the most decorated gymnast in history and widely considered the greatest of all time. She has won more Gymnastics World Championships medals than anyone else: 30, primarily gold.

Named the 2014-15 USOC Female Olympic Athlete of the Year. Owns the most world medals in U.S. history (14) and the most world championships gold medals of any female gymnast (10) Favorite event is floor exercise. Hobbies include shopping and her favorite food is Italian food.

Besides tying a number of other world records, she set a new American record for most gold medals in gymnastics at a single Olympics Games. Between her performances at the Olympics and in World Championship competition, she has won 19 medals, making her the most decorated American gymnast of all time.

Biles left the sport of gymnastics after suffering from a mental condition called the “twisties” during the 2020 Summer Olympics, which were held in 2021 due to Covid-19.
