The Mayhem character will be a deadpan actor who represents the incidents in life that could lead to accidents. In every ad, this character will state that because the customer stuck with “cut rate” insurance, they won't be covered and will end up paying more out of their own pockets.

Dean Winters Dean Winters - known for acting roles on “30 Rock,” “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” and other productions - has long been Mayhem in ads for Allstate insurance.

The Mayhem actor did die (but he's doing much better today)! Winters became extremely ill with a bacterial illness in June 2009 and was taken to Lennox Hill Hospital after falling at his doctor's office. According to HITC, he had a high fever the day before his collapse.

2010 Allstate first introduced Mayhem in 2010 and has since turned the character played by actor Dean Winters into a household name – joining the ranks of Geico's Cockney accented Gecko and Progressive's Flo.

The campaign theme is the central message that will be received in the promotional activities and is the prime focus of the advertising campaign, as it sets the motif for the series of individual advertisements and other marketing communications that will be used.

It's easy to feel invisible in such an impressive family, but Mimi's dream of proving she's not the least-talented member of her family seems possible when she discovers a contest at the new bakery in town. Plus, it'll start her on the path to becoming a celebrity chef like her culinary idol, Puffy Fay.

Although his face is arguably one of the most recognizable in the country thanks to over a decade of Allstate commercials (playing the devious character Mayhem), Dean Winters has only ever been in one other commercial, in the mid-1990s.
