Gary Sinise For over thirty years, Gary Sinise has stood as an advocate of America's servicemen and women. It began in the early 80's with his support of Vietnam veterans and continued into the 90's in support of the Disabled American Veterans organization raising awareness and support for our wounded service members.

He wanted to introduce current wounded veterans, new to their injuries, with wounded veterans from pervious wars. With the support of the DAV and Boulder Crest Retreat, Gary initiated his idea as part of the Gary Sinise Foundation.

For nearly 40 years, Gary has stood as an advocate on behalf of America's service members. It began in the early '80s, supporting local Vietnam veterans groups in the Chicago area, and into the '90s, when his portrayal of Lt.

Since 1946, Paralyzed Veterans of America has been on a mission to change lives and build brighter futures for our seriously injured heroes. We've had a single-minded mission - to empower our brave men and women to regain what they fought for: their freedom and independence.

Since 1946, PVA has filled a unique need by specifically serving Veterans with spinal cord injury/disease (SCI/D). PVA provides benefits counseling, adaptive sports, career support, research and education, advocacy and more.

Gary has starred as Jack Garrett on the series Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders, and for nine seasons as Detective “Mac” Taylor on the hit series CSI: NY, both of which aired on CBS. Sinise is an Emmy, Golden Globe, and two-time SAG Award winner for his roles in Truman and George Wallace.

With the creation of the Gary Sinise Foundation, his crusade now supports all those who sacrifice on our behalf: active duty, veterans, first responders, and their loved ones. Each program shows appreciation for America's heroes through entertainment, family support, and acts of gratitude.

Since then, America has fought in 12 different conflicts, all to protect these same ideals. Our veterans are crucial to life as we know it today because they protect our freedom, provide us with a way to learn about our history and the world around us, and risk their lives for people they have never met.

Paralyzed Veterans of America was founded on January 18, 1946, in the Recreation Hall of the Red Cross by seventy paraplegic patients of the Birmingham General Hospital in Van Nuys, California.

The Missing in America Veterans Recovery Program (MIAP) (EIN: 20-8408832) is a Federal recognized Non-Profit Veterans Organization for the identification, location, verification, and movement of Veterans and their Dependents.
