The Big Bang Theory Jim Parsons, in full James Joseph Parsons, (born March 24, 1973, Houston, Texas, U.S.), American actor who is best known for his starring role as the socially challenged, brilliant, and astonishingly self-centred theoretical physicist Sheldon Cooper on the TV sitcom The Big Bang Theory (2007–19).

American actor Jim Parsons rocketed to fame on the strength of his unforgettable performance as a socially awkward scientist in the hit sitcom "The Big Bang Theory" (CBS, 2007-19). Born in Houston, Texas, he moved to New York to pursue a stage career after earning an MFA from the University of San Diego.

History. Parsons was founded by Ralph M. Parsons in 1944. The company delivered electronics, instrumentation, ground checkout systems design, and engineering for aircraft, missiles and rockets during the Cold War.

Parsons' sociology is based on a general theoretical system rather than on smaller, empirical studies. He was known as a functionalist theorist; as such, his influential work spans many areas within sociology, including stratification, the family, education and religion.
