KFC Philippines unveiled the Double Down Dog - a cheese-covered wiener wrapped in a fried chicken fillet (in lieu of a regular bun) - Monday at select Philippines locations, according to the chain's Facebook.

So meaty there's no room for the bun. Didn't do much to thwart that misconception. But the sandwich was all too real KFC.

This out-of-the-box sandwich lacked a very important ingredient - buns. Instead, this fried wonder sported two pieces of crispy, hickory-smoked bacon, two slices of Monterey jack and pepper jack cheese, real mayo and spicy sauce packed between two Extra Crispy white meat chicken fillets.

A closer look at the packet shows the main ingredient in the famous seasoning is Monosodium Glutamate - also known as MSG - followed by “Herbs and Spices, Salt and Garlic Powder”. MSG is a controversial food additive that is generally regarded as being safe for consumption.
