Salonpas patches are only suitable for adults aged 18 years and over. Don't use them if you're allergic to aspirin or ibuprofen, if you have a stomach ulcer, bleeding in your gut or other bleeding problem, if you have severe heart, kidney or liver failure, or if you're pregnant or trying for a baby.

Infections that have been reported during capsaicin patch use in postherpetic neuralgia include bronchitis (2%), naso-pharyngitis (4%), and sinusitis (3%). Use of capsaicin 8% topical patch is associated with a transient increase in blood pressure related to treatment-induced increases in pain.

Redness, swelling, blisters, or changes in skin color at the site of application may occur. These effects usually disappear within a few minutes or hours. If any of these effects last or get worse, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly.

There have been no reports of decrease/increase in blood pressure from using Salonpas®. If you have low or high blood pressure, please consult a doctor before using Salonpas® products.

Many people using this medication do not have serious side effects. Tell your doctor right away if you have any serious side effects, including: blurred vision, mental/mood changes (such as nervousness, confusion), drowsiness, dizziness, unusually slow heartbeat.

Warnings and Precautions. Even though Salonpas does not require a prescription, it's not entirely safe for everyone. It is very important to read the label before using the product and have a conversation with your healthcare provider. Your medical history may indicate that these patches are not appropriate for you.
