Children's Claritin Chewables Grape flavor provides effective allergy relief for kids with a non-drowsy formula that lasts all day. Is Allergy Medication OK for Children? There are antihistamine products intended for use in children ages 2 to 12, such as Children's Claritin® products which are available in several forms and can provide 24-hour non-drowsy allergy relief. Antihistamines work for both indoor allergies and outdoor/seasonal allergies.

A common adult Claritin dosage is 10 mg by mouth once a day. Kids ages 6 years and older can also take this dose. Children ages 2 to 5 years old can take 5 mg of Claritin once a day. This medication isn't typically recommended for kids under 2 years old.

Works the same as the pill form, as far as I can tell, and Claritin works pretty consistently well for me at managing itchy, watery eyes and sneezing.

Not recommended under the age of 2 years. Timing: You may give a dose of loratadine (Claritin) once daily. Products labeled “cold,” “cold and sinus,” “multisymptom,” or “PM” are not recommended for children under the age of 6, as they contain additional medications.

Common Claritin side effects include headache, sleepiness, and fatigue. Less commonly, some people may experience dry mouth, dizziness, or an upset stomach. Claritin side effects are typically mild and can be managed at home. If they become too bothersome, stop taking Claritin and talk to your healthcare provider.
