Holiday in the Park (known as Christmas in the Park at Six Flags México) is a Christmas event that takes place at several Six Flags parks. The event features Christmas lights along with live entertainment, and usually follows Six Flags Fright Fest in October.

The entire park is transformed into a giant holiday festival, complete with millions of Christmas lights, holiday shows, a snow sledding hill, Santa Claus, special food and drinks, merchandise, and more. Six Flags over Texas started the tradition in 1985 making 2022's Holiday in the Park the 37th year running.

The six flags comes from the six nations that have governed Texas during its history. These flags include Spain, France, Mexico, the Republic of Texas, the United States of America, and the Confederate States of America. When the park opened in 1961, it had themed areas for each flag.

As a general rule, when visiting Six Flags Over Texas, Guests should avoid clothing that may be considered inappropriate for our family-friendly environment. Clothing and visible tattoos that depict violence, nudity, vulgarity, or discriminatory language or graphics are prohibited at all times.

(March 25, 2022) - Six Flags Magic Mountain Inc. failed to protect celebrity guests of a movie premiere event from being attacked by the theme park's paying customers, a California state court lawsuit says.

Severe damage from Hurricane Katrina closed the park and it never reopened due to a pump failure after four to seven feet of floodwaters sat on park grounds. The Industrial Development Board took ownership of the property in 2009.
